Towards Light.
Towards Light is a music, art and lepidoptery project inspired by the urgent need to re-think the way humans relate to nature. This project explores the subject with a moths-eye view, to re-imagine the way we accompany our fellow creatures.
It is a collaboration between Katherine Pogson, Claire Shovelton and CHROMA ensemble, starting as a film exhibit at Lumen Gallery Bethnal Green, London, then CHROMA adds a music programme for concert performance, and curates learning programmes with the community of Fair Isle, Shetland and OmVed Gardens, Highgate London.

Katherine and I met whilst reading our drama degrees at university in 1985 and have been heading out on adventures together ever since.
CHROMA
Award-winning London-based flexible chamber ensemble.
I have been producing this collective of top-notch freelance musicians since 2002, in creative partnership with the ensemble’s artistic director Stuart King.
Fair Isle Community
The UK’s most remote inhabited island, 24 miles south of mainland Shetland, with a permanent population of 60 people. An island of many musicians, artists and makers, which I have been visiting since 2006. The Towards Light team will be there 24 September - 1 October 2021.
OmVed Gardens
Tucked away behind Highgate High Street, OmVed is a diverse eco habitat with a wildflower meadow, an orchard and a vegetable garden. Through collaboration with artists, architects, chefs, musicians and horticulturalists OmVed explores the nature of the relationship between people and our connection to the environment.
